We are happy to announce our new Alexa feature: Alexa Voice Announcements!

Starting today, anyone with MobiLinc Connect and Alexa can trigger any Alexa enabled device in your home to speak any custom phrase when motion or a sensor change is detected. Supported items in your ISY that classify as sensors are:

• INSTEON Motion sensors.
• INSTEON Door sensors.
• IO Linc Relay/Sensors.
• Programs in a folder called "Sensors".
• Variables with "Sensor" in the name of the variable.
• ELK Zones.

Some examples of what you can do include:

• Announce at home when you leave work (trigger off your MobiLinc geo-fence variable).
• Announce when motion is detected.
• Announce when a door or ELK zone is triggered.
• Announce when the garage door opens or closes (IO Linc sensor as a trigger).
• Turn on lights inside or outside when motion is detected.
• Turn a RemoteLinc or KeypadLinc into a music controller for Alexa.
• Connect ANYTHING in IFTTT to Alexa using the MobiLinc IFTTT Channel.

We are happy to announce the release of the official IFTTT MobiLinc channel! Bridge your INSTEON and Z-Wave devices into the world of IFTTT.

IFTTT service ties together thousands of events from hundreds of service providers like MobiLinc Connect. This allows services like MobiLinc Connect to respond to events or generate events to kick off actions with another service on the IFTTT platform. All without having to write a dedicate integration with every single possible service.

At the core, IFTTT allows you as the user to create "Applets". An Applet is a simple action that runs when the Applet's trigger is activated. The Applet's trigger can be from one service and the action from another. For example, If the time is 6:00 pm, then turn on my sunset scene.

Here are just a few examples of Applets you can easily setup in the IFTTT app with your MobiLinc Connect subscription and your ISY:
• If the time is 5:30 am then turn off the landscape lights scene.
• If my Ring doorbell senses motion, then turn on the outdoor lights.
• If I leave home, then arm my security system.
• If I arrive home, then open the garage door.
• If the front door lock is jammed, then notify me with a push notification.
• If a water leak is detected, then call my cell phone.
• If I leave work, then set the thermostat to Cool and set point to 72 degrees.
• If my security system is in alarm, then call my cell phone.

We are happy to announce the release of our dynamic DNS service with your MobiLinc Connect subscription.

Dynamic DNS is a static web address that maps back to your home's external IP address. Since most ISPs will change your home's IP address frequently a lot of users opt to pay for a DNS tracking service like no-ip.org to access their IP Cameras and other home network items.

This frequent changing of your external IP address is why we originally created the MobiLinc Connect service. MobiLinc Connect and your ISY work together to give you local and remote access anywhere you have internet access, no matter if your external IP address changes, but it was limited to just the ISY controller.

With the Dynamic DNS feature of MobiLinc Connect, you can use your unique MobiLinc Connect address instead of paying for a separate dynamic DNS service to access other network equipment items like IP Cameras.

Your MobiLinc Connect Dynamic DNS address is: {ISY's UUID}.mobilinc.io

For example, if your ISY's UUID is: 12:34:56:78:90:12 remove the colons and use this to reach your home's external IP address: 123456789012.mobilinc.io

We are happy to announce that our MobiLinc Smart Home skill V3 has been approved.

With the new Alexa Smart Home skill update, MobiLinc and Alexa users can now command, control, and status lights, switches, thermostats, scenes, programs, and other devices in the Alexa app in real-time as well as utilize Alexa routines. With this update, the separate MobiLinc Custom skill is no longer needed as all features are now included in the one MobiLinc Smart Home skill including individual room control.

• The MobiLinc Smart Home skill supports the following voice features:
• Turn on or off a device, scene, or program. "Alexa, turn on the kitchen lights."
• Brighten or Dim a device. "Alexa, dim the living room."
• Adjust the Thermostat. "Alexa, set the thermostat to 72 degrees."
• Ask for status: "Alexa, what is the upstairs temperature?"
• Lock the door: "Alexa, lock the front door"
